Portland United 0 - Stalbridge 1

Goalscorer: William Oswald

Man of the Match: William Oswald

A trip away to the ampitheatre in Portland could have been a very difficult match but the boys remembered and retained the battling spirit from the Lytchett game last week and played superbly. William Oswald and Matt Crosby have built a real fortress in defence that resulted in only a couple of goal scoring opportunities for Portland. Billie Forrester has found a real talent for midfield and put in some great tackles and Sam Hopkins continually made his presence known to the opposition. Stalbridge created lots of chances early on through Jack Royle, Tristan Marshall and Ollie Beaumont. Ben Siddell in goal was in total charge, a fantastic game. We have been practising corners at training and Isaac Stroud-Allen delivered a great ball in for William Oswald to score his first goal. William got a well deserved man of the match. The team is going from strength to strength, fantastic results boys!

MATCH REPORT: U10'S - Stalbridge 1 Lytchett Red Triangle 1

Goalscorer: Tristan Marshall

Man of the Match: Tristan Marshall

Everyone saw this as a tough match as Lytchett have only been beaten by Ringwood all season and they have won every other match. That aside we just focussed on applying what we had covered in training as the result of the lessons learnt from the week before. With lots of running, tackling and being quick to the ball we stifled any threat from Lytchett. We had the chance to take the lead through a penalty but the the windy conditions meant to just drifted wide of the post. Lytchett took the lead from an unfortunate own goal so we went in to half time 1 nil down. Now playing downhill in the second half we had the chance to equalise. A well executed corner from Isaac Stroud-Allen found Tristan Marshall who put the ball in the back of the net to make it 1 - 1. Everyone worked really hard battling for the ball particularly Ollie Beaumont who took a nasty knock but came back on the play out the rest of the match. Billie Forrester made a match winning save to keep Stalbridge in the game. Tristan was a deserved man of the match due to his work rate throughout the match. All fantastic result, well done Stalbridge

 UNDER 10'S:  Corfe Castle 5   Stalbridge 1

Goal Scorer: Isaac Stroud-Allen

Man of the Match: William Coleman

A new year and a new kit and a great fist half! Stalbridge played the best football of the season so far. Virtually all of the play was in Corfe Castle's half that was a result of some great passing and tackling. Corfe had one shot on goal in the first half which unfortunately resulted in the first goal of the game. Stalbridge came back shortly afterwards with a goal from Isaac Stroud-Allen. Unfortunately the focus of the first half was lost in the second. Failing to pick up Corfe Castle's play maker resulted in a further 4 unanswered goals. The result was not a fair reflection of the match and the boys didn't deserve a loss of 5 - 1.

  MATCH REPORT:
Stalbridge 2 Corfe Castle 2

Goalscorers: Jack Royle 1, Ollie Beaumont 1

Man of the Match: Ben Siddell

Yet again we find ourselves playing in wet windy conditions in a very even match Corfe Castle had an early corner and scored directly from the corner kick. Sam Hopkins played in goal for the first half and made some great saves to keep the score to 1 - 0. Ben Siddell had a great game in right midfield playing with pace and going for every tackle, earning a well deserved man of the match. Corfe had an opportunistic kick at goal from the half way line and the wind took it straight into the goal.

In the second half Will Oswald was in goal and Stalbridge were playing downhill assisted by the wind. Jack Royle got a goal early in the second half and our spirits lifted which resulted in more goal scoring opportunities which we were unfortunate not to convert. But after much persistence Ollie Beaumont scored the equaliser. We had a few more opportunities to win the game but could not convert them. Will Oswald made a match saving tackle towards the end of the game. It was a fair result that reflected a close match. A well deserved point Stalbridge. We now have a break until the 15th Jan when we are away to Corfe Castle - so don't eat to many mince pies boys!

match report: U10'S - Cup Game

Stalbridge 1 Longfleet Youth Lions 7

Goalscorer: Ollie Beaumont

Man of the Match: Ollie Beaumont

Stalbridge had a tough draw in the 3rd round of the cup. Longfleet have had a successful run in division B and this showed when they scored an unstoppable header from a corner within the first few minutes of the game. They quickly converted the scoreline to 2 - 0 with a penalty awarded for handball a few minutes later.

Ben Siddell made some impressive saves to keep Stalbridge in the game but they were overwhelmed by a well oiled Longfleet midfield who had pace and precision passing.

Ollie Beaumont then inspired Stalbridge to play with some grit and determination, battling for every ball which resulted in a fantastic strike that looped up and came down off of the crossbar which resulted in the only Stalbridge goal. A well deserved man of the match.Tristan Marshall deserves a mention as he played a fantastic game, running and battling for every ball. They all played really well in the 2nd half in awful conditions.

 MATCH REPORT: U10'S - Bridport Jets 5 Stalbridge 3

Goalscorers: Isaac Stroud-Allen 2, Jack Royle 1

Man of the Match: Billy Forrester

It was a very even game with lots of chances for both teams. Stalbridge went 2-0 down, with Stalbridge being caught on the break for the second. Will Coleman had a fantastic game and crossed the ball in for Jack Royle to score the first Stalbridge goal. Ben Siddell made some great saves to keep Stalbridge in the match and he was supported by a great effort from Billy Forrester who put in a man of the match performance. Bridport got a 3rd to take the score to 3-1. Isaac cut in on the left and scored from a tight angle; a goal created by Will Coleman. Ollie, Sam and Tristan gave a good account of themselves in midfield to help create the next Stalbridge goal scored by Isaac. Bridport passed the ball well and scored two more to take the final score to 5-3.

Two players that consisently put in 100% each week are Matt Crosby and Will Oswald; your efforts do not go unnoticed.

  MATCH REPORT:

     U10'S:Stalbridge 3 AFC Chesil Devils 3

Goalscorers: Isaac Stroud-Allen 2 Jack Royle 1

Man of the Match: Matt Crosby

Stalbridge felt the brunt of a team looking to make up for a big loss against Ringwood last week. Chesil Devils were the more lively side in the first half creating chances but were denied by some great goalkeeping from Ben Siddell. We always make it hard for ourselves in the first half by not being on our toes and not playing a fluid passing game. Chesil Devils went 1 nil up in the first half as Stalbridge forgot that when we don't have the ball everyone is a defender.

Chesil scored another in the second half to go 2 nil up. Stalbridge woke up with Isaac Stroud-Allen scoring. Stalbridge were again found guilty of ball watching and Chesil scored a a 3rd to go 3 - 1 up. Stalbridge kept on battling and Isaac scored a cheeky chip from just outside the area which dropped into the top left hand corner of the goal. The boys kept on battling with some more determined midfield play from Jack Royle and Ollie Beaumont which resulted in a goal from Jack Royle to level the score and which turned out to be the final kick of the game.

Matt Crosby was the man of the match with consistent tackling and marking in defence. A special well done to Ollie Beaumont who had a great match even though he has not been well all week. A well deserved point, well done Stalbridge!

  MATCH REPORT:

U10'S: Dorchester Town Dynamos 2  Stalbridge 1

Goalscorer: Ben Siddell

Man of the Match: Sam Hopkins

Stalbridge started the match brightly and were the first to the ball with most of the battle taking place in midfield. Dynamos had three players in defence so the goal scoring chances were few and far between. In the first half Ben Siddell made a great save to keep the score at nill nil, with Matt Crosby and William Oswald building further on a strong defensive partnership keeping Dynamo attacks to a minimum.

At the heart of the midfield battle was Sam Hopkins with great support from Jack Royle and William Coleman. Dynamos went 1 - 0 up in the second half but Stalbridge started to create some great chances due mainly to the persistence of Ollie Beaumont and Ben Siddell. This persistence was paid off with a goal from Ben Siddell. Dynamos then scored another goal to go 2 - 1 up. They defended deep and put numbers behind the ball to maintain their lead. Stalbridge played some great football and carried on battling throughout, the result does not truly reflect the effort. Well done Stalbridge, every week you are progressing and growing as a team.

   STALBRIDGE U12s 2 v CORFE MULLEN 2

One of the best game's of the season well done to everyone, we took the lead early in the first half through jacob , then sadly we went down to 10 men with sam forrest having to come off with a nasty injury ( fractured wrist) corfe mullen equilised just before half time. The second half was just as good as the first half with some great defending and goalkeeping but we got the lead through a superb strike from ed evans, corfe mullen kept on attacking and hit the post twice late on and they finally equilised late on through an own goal from ryan we also had 2 great chances of winning the game with shots from Ben and Sterling just going wide of the goal  . man of the match was a tough one this week with everyone putting in such a great perfomance but it was ed evans that just edged it.
