Match Report - 23 Oct 2011, Stalbridge Youth FC U15 2019 beat West Howe
West Howe 0 Stalbridge 7
Goal scorers: Isaac Stroud-Allen 3, William Coleman 2, Jack Royle 1
Man of the Match: William Coleman
The match started well with a goal from Isaac within the first 2 minutes, a result of some crisp passing that the boys took from the training field and delivered in the match. West Howe defended deep and to their credit the West Howe keeper pulled off some great saves. William Coleman took the second goal, again as a result of some great passing play between the front 4. Then Jack Royle headed in the 3rd goal at the near post from a well executed corner.
Ben Siddell did not have much to do in goal in the first half with Billie Forrester and William Oswald cleaning up all of the West Howe opportunities in the first half. Billie Forrester played the first half as a defender and did a fantastic job.
The boys knew that it might be a long and tiring match as we did not have any subs and the fighting spirit was there to be seen when William Oswald had the ball kicked straight in his face and still got his tackle in even with a bleeding nose. Sam Hopkins took a couple of knocks but shrugged them off and played a pivotal role in the match in centre midfield.
In the second half Billie Forrester returned to his more familiar role as goalkeeper with Ben Siddell moving out to right midfield. Stalbridge again executed some great passing play which resulted in two more goals for Isaac Stroud-Allen and one for William Coleman. A West Howe defensive mix up resulted in an own goal.
There were 7 contenders for man of the match today, they all played brilliantly and thoroughly deserved the win.
