Dorchester Town Stars started brightly and scored within the first minute of the match. Stalbridge now had their wake-up call and had to defend a number of attacks that came downhill with the sun in their eyes. Matt Crosby and William Oswald mopping up at the back and building a good defensive partnership with Sam Hopkins playing a solid holding role in central midfield. Dorchester went 2 - 0 up at half time. Stalbridge are a different side in the second half and came back quickly with two goals from Isaac Stroud-Allen. At 2- 2 Stalbridge were back in the game and had their tails up playing some nice crisp passing football. Dorchester came back though and scored a third. With only a few minutes to go Stalbridge won a free kick just outside the area. William Coleman stepped up and delivered a left footed drive round the wall and scored at the near post. The game was now going to extra time. Extra time is 5 minutes each way and in the second half of extra time Stalbridge's latest signing, Tristan Marshall, got the winning goal and ensured that we did not have to go through the pain and pressure of a penalty shoot out. They all pulled together and played for each other; the man of the match decision is always the hardest one to make. Well done Stalbridge!
